Mohammed Mutaka sends a plea to the Northern Regional Caucus of Ghana’s Parliament, says…
Ghanaian Sports Journalist with the Tamale based Diamond FM, Mohammed Mutaka has called on philanthropists and business men in the Northern region to support the Sports Industry in the area by investing in it.

He made the call while responding to a question which sought to understand why Sports Journalists in the region are not usually seen or picked by the Ghana Football Association to tournaments like they do with their colleagues in the other parts of the country.
The host, Prince Halid Mukadi Gbramoni noted that the passed tournaments has not seen journalists in the Northern Region selected among those of the GFA’s, this he said is worrying.
The Sports industry in the Northern region has over the years only seen an abysmal growth in almost all areas as less support or investment is given to it, this deters the Journalists in the area from some common privileges they should be enjoying. Mutaka bemoaned on Sports Connect.
He however, urged with a humble plea on the benevolence of Northern Regional Caucus of Parliament to support their trips especially during the International football competitions like the AFCON and the World Cup, this he believes will expose them more to the work.
“I understand that primarily, it is the responsibility of the media houses to sponsor such trips of their workers but the investment is less for now”
“We can only call on our MPs for these favors, they appear to have the support…a number of fans were recently in the World Cup in Qatar through them, if such opportunities are kindly granted us I believe it will expose us more to the work” he noted.
Sports is arguably the most lucrative industry where organizations, businesses and philanthropists greatly invest in as it is the most followed entertainment industry in the world but same cannot be said about Tamale as the industry is less appreciated by these individuals.
